1. Are dogs allowed in the garden?

Yes, please keep your furry friends on a lead and clean up any mess they make and deposit in rubbish bins.

2. What are the opening hours and is there a fee?

Gardens are opened 24/7. There is no entry fee.

3. Are weddings allowed in the Rose Garden?

Yes, please book with Latrobe City Council on 1300 367 700 Should you wish to contribute a donation towards the upkeep of the Rose Garden, this can be sent to:

Morwell Centenary Rose Garden Community Asset Committee, Treasurer, PO Box 1084 Morwell 3840. Alternatively, by direct payment to the National Australia Bank:

BSB 083-773 Acct No.50-138-9544 and add your SURNAME AS THE REFERENCE.

4. People ask if human ashes can be spread in the garden?

No. It is a public area, and ashes are harmful to the garden and will be removed.

5. Does the Rose Garden take donations of rose plants from people’s gardens?

No. The garden is planted in beds of specific types of roses.

6. Are plaques allowed to be placed in the Garden?

No. Plaques are no longer permitted.

7. What time of the year are the Rose Pruning demonstrations held?

The last Saturday of June at 10.30am and again at 2pm. Check our website. Facebook page and Express for further details in June.

8. When is the International Rose Garden Festival Morwell held?

In November. Council will announce the date later in the year. Watch Councils website, Facebook and the Express for further Information on this event.

9. Do we provide advice about growing and/or propagating roses. Also help with maintaining/pruning roses?

No. Google or U Tube have good information.

10. How can I become a volunteer at the rose garden?

Go to Latrobe City Council web site and register on line, you will also need a working with children certificate.

11. Can we give a presentation to a visiting group?

Yes, by appointment only.
